Dr David K P Li is Chairman and Chief Executive of The Bank of East Asia. He has
represented the Finance Constituency in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for
over 20 years, and is also a non-official member of the Executive Council, the
highest advisory and policy-making body under the Chief Executive of the Hong
Kong Special Administrative Region.
Dr Li plays an active role in the development of Hong Kong's financial
infrastructure as a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, the
Banking Advisory Committee, and the Hong Kong Association of Banks Committee.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of a number of prominent public
companies, both in Hong Kong and abroad.
Dr Li is a strong supporter of educational causes, and is currently the
Pro-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Council and
Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association, and Chairman
of the INSEAD East Asia Council. He is also co-founder and Chairman of the Friends
of Cambridge University in Hong Kong.
Dr Li is Chairman of The Salvation Army Hong Kong and Macau Command Advisory
Board, and Chairman of the St. James' Settlement.
Dr Li attended the University of Cambridge, and has a MA in Economics and Law.
